The X Family
Our Story X-Speed United is a UCI-registered men’s road cycling team based in Canada. We compete in the UCI Continental Road Series—primarily in the heart of road cycling, Europe participating in approximately 80 UCI race days per year. The team is overseen by X-Speed United Canada, a Canadian not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing development opportunities for young riders on a global stage. Founded in 2019, X-Speed United began as a joint initiative between Western Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong, with a shared vision to nurture emerging cycling talent from these three regions. Recognizing the need for a more sustainable model in professional cycling, a three-way alliance was formed, with each party contributing resources and ideas to create a platform focused on junior and U23 development. The name X-Speed United originates from the X-Speed Sports Club in Hong Kong and its sister club, X-Speed Australia CC. The team made its debut at the 2019 Tour of Johor in Malaysia and went on to enjoy a successful season on the Asian racing circuit. Tragically, midway through our first year, we lost Andrew Szeto—our Hong Kong-based director, the founder of the X-Speed name, and a tireless advocate for youth cycling. His legacy continues to inspire everything we do. Following Andrew’s passing, team leadership transitioned to Canada, where we’ve continued to expand our reach while staying true to his vision. No matter how the team grows or where we race, we remain committed to our X-Speed identity. It is more than a name—it’s a tribute to the man who started it all and a symbol of long-term commitment to rider development and sustainability in the sport. The team provides life experience's to riders and staff alike, through the great sport of road cycling!

The X Men
The X Men Message “The Heart of True Grit” At X-Speed United, we believe that true grit comes from the heart—not from an abundance of resources. Our riders have proven this time and time again, consistently showing determination and resilience on the road. In the past season and a half, the X Men have recorded nearly 40 top ten results across multiple countries—a powerful testament to their dedication and hard work. These accomplishments are made even more impressive given the limited resources we operate with compared to many bigger-budget teams. As we look ahead, our focus is on improving our top ten to podium ratio—and we know that with continued grit, teamwork, and community support, we’ll get there.
