Garin Kelley, a good ol’ boy from Fort Worth, Texas, made some waves in the cycling world this year while maintaining his studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studies biology. 2024 has been nothing short of a whirlwind for Garin, who racked up an impressive 45 UCI race days across multiple continents.
He kicked off the season with his road club, Team California, before joining the Aevolo devo team for the Tour of Rhodes. After that, he reunited with Team California for two of the most iconic races in the U.S., the Redlands Bicycle Classic and the Tour of the Gila. But Garin wasn’t content with just domestic success. He headed to Spain, racing for the Finisher team—the feeder program for Kern Pharma Pro—for 10 days of action, including a standout 2nd-place finish at the GP Tetuan in Madrid. Just three days later, he tackled the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid, enduring five brutal stages of climbing in the July heat. He then ventured north to the Basque Country for more one-day races, sharpening his skills on some of Spain’s toughest courses.
But Garin’s European adventure didn’t stop there. He next landed in Belgium, where he joined the Team Skyline continental squad and hit the famous cobbles. He took on UCI 1.2-level races and even got a taste of 1.1 competition at the Omloop van het Houtland, where he rubbed shoulders with World Tour teams—an experience that gave him invaluable insight into the top tier of professional cycling.
And just when you thought his 2024 season couldn’t get any bigger, Garin wrapped it up in Italy at the Il Lombardia Under-23, one of the most prestigious races for young riders. His ability to compete at such a high level, across a wide range of terrains and countries, speaks volumes about his talent, adaptability, and determination.
With a season like this and at only 20 years old, there’s no doubt Garin Kelley is a rider to watch. Whether it’s on the cobbles of Belgium, the mountains of Spain, or the iconic climbs of Italy, this Texan is proving that he’s ready for whatever the cycling world throws his way. We can’t wait to see what he’ll achieve next!
